Houston Marathon
Run for a Reason
January 15-17, 2027

The Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason (RFAR) charity program connects the philanthropic community to passionate race participants willing to raise funds and create awareness for meaningful causes. The Houston Marathon Committee (HMC) strives to promote a healthy lifestyle and camaraderie through running.

When you Run for a Reason for The Woods Project, you’re changing the lives of high-potential Houston high school students from historically marginalized communities.

Run, Walk, Donate, or Volunteer to Help us Make a Difference!

Run for a Reason registration options:

Commit to raising at least $500 for The Woods Project when you run the Chevron Houston Marathon or Aramco Houston Half Marathon and we will cover your registration fee.

Commit to raising at least $250 for The Woods Project when you run the We are Houston 5K, and we will cover your registration fee.

You will only be charged for any add-on events or merchandise. You will have until October 1, 2026 to raise at least $175 of your required minimum. The Houston Marathon Committee (HMC), RFAR, and our charity partners invite your corporation to be active participants in encouraging wellness, team building, and promoting charitable giving within your organization. Your company and your running team, if you opt to have one, will be recognized through a variety of advertising, marketing and networking benefits that will be activated before, during, and after race weekend.

When you and your corporation become a part of this truly inspiring program, in addition to supporting The Woods Project, you’ll also be aligned with the largest single-day sporting event in the city of Houston and the nation’s premier winter marathon. With 35,000 participants, 7,000 volunteers, and 300,000 spectators, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to participate as Corporate Partner in the Chevron Houston Marathon, Aramco Houston Half Marathon and We Are Houston 5K presented by Aramco and Chevron.
