PAIR Day Workshop

February 13

JLP & PAIR Workshop at Brazos Bend

This PAIR Day Workshop is a single-day outdoor experience at Brazos Bend State Park designed to introduce students to outdoor exploration, teamwork, and foundational camping skills. PAIR students, supported by Junior Leaders and The Woods Project staff, will participate in guided day hikes, nature exploration, and rotating activity stations led by TWP.

Students will rotate through beginner-friendly hikes around Elm Lake, hands-on environmental learning at the Nature Center, and team-building activities. Camping 101 stations will introduce basic outdoor skills such as tent setup, camp stoves, knot tying, and how to pack a backpack. While this is not an overnight trip, the workshop is designed to give students a clear preview of what to expect on future weekend and summer trips with The Woods Project.

The day is structured around engagement, collaboration, and confidence-building in an accessible park setting with pavilion access, restrooms, and water available on-site.

Please note:  The trip signup is your opportunity to make your preferences and availability for our weekend trips known.  We will make our best effort to place you on the trip(s) that you have requested.  However, due to limits on capacity, as well as the need to maintain a reasonable adult:student ratio, there may be trips where we do not have space for every leader who would like to attend. We will follow up by email 1-2 weeks prior to our weekend trips with details and all the information you will need for attending.  Thank you!
