DESCRIPTION:Summer Leader Training #2\nRequired for ALL summer volunteer leaders.\n \nThe Woods Project summer leader training spans 2 days and will be held at our offices directly behind the American Red Cross building (2700 Southwest Freeway\, Houston\, TX\, 77098). This training is for our summer trip leaders only. The training covers important information on procedures\, policies\, and programming through the incorporation of presentation\, discussion\, scenarios\, and hands-on gear handling. Training will run from 8 am to 5 pm each day. Please dress comfortable and bring a refillable water bottle. Breakfast and lunch will be served each day. \nSummer leaders are required to attend 1 of the 2  available sessions. \nLeader training #2 – Saturday\, May 16 – Sunday\, May 17: REGISTER HERE \nPlease register for one of the trainings if you have been assigned as a Summer Leader for the 2026 trips.

We will be organizing everything into backpacking groups\, and then stuffing things into gearbags that will be shipped across the country so our students and leaders can use the camping equipment during their summer trips. \nPlease bring a refillable water bottle and comfortable clothes you do not mind getting dirty. SUMMARY:Wilderness First Aid (WFA) & CPR
DESCRIPTION:Are you hoping to be a volunteer with The Woods Project this summer\, or participate in some other upcoming wilderness experience?  If so\, this might be the course for you!  The Woods Project will be hosting a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course\, which will take place all day on Saturday\, May 30 through Sunday\, May 31st. Each day should run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a break for lunch. This is required for trips to Olympic\, and otherwise highly recommended for all other TWP trip volunteers. \nWe will also be offering a hybrid CPR certification. If you sign up you will receive a link to the online training and then take the test in person. The  cost for WFA  of $210 and an additional $50 for the CPR certification.
