DESCRIPTION:Brazos Bend State Park Camping\nOur first trip of the season will be at Brazos Bend State Park! Brazos Bend is known for its alligator population and unique features to this part of Texas\, so come ready to see some incredible wildlife while spending the day outside exploring. Saturday night will be spent camping at Brazos Bend\, and the trip will run from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon. Registration deadline 1/30/26 \nREGISTER HERE!  \nPlease note:  The trip signup is your opportunity to make your preferences and availability for our weekend trips known.  We will make our best effort to place you on the trip(s) that you have requested.  However\, due to limits on capacity\, as well as the need to maintain a reasonable adult:student ratio\, there may be trips where we do not have space for every leader who would like to attend. We will follow up by email 1-2 weeks prior to our weekend trips with details and all the information you will need for attending.  Thank you!

DESCRIPTION:For those that are unavailable for the in-person class we have scheduled a virtual trip leader orientation. It is scheduled for Thursday\, February 12 at 6:30 pm. It will be held over Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent out a few days before the class. Attendees will be required to have their cameras on during the class. \nOrientation Topics: \n\nThe Woods Project Introduction\nVolunteer Opportunities\nWeekend Trip Outline\nLeader Roles and Responsibilities\nSafety and Abuse Prevention Reminders\n\nThis session is required for first-time weekend trip volunteers. If you know of any adults that might also be interested\, please pass on the date and have them sign up. SUMMARY:PAIR Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:JLP & PAIR Workshop at Brazos Bend\nThis PAIR Day Workshop is a single-day outdoor experience at Brazos Bend State Park designed to introduce students to outdoor exploration\, teamwork\, and foundational camping skills. PAIR students\, supported by Junior Leaders and The Woods Project staff\, will participate in guided day hikes\, nature exploration\, and rotating activity stations led by TWP. \nStudents will rotate through beginner-friendly hikes around Elm Lake\, hands-on environmental learning at the Nature Center\, and team-building activities. Camping 101 stations will introduce basic outdoor skills such as tent setup\, camp stoves\, knot tying\, and how to pack a backpack. DESCRIPTION:Galveston State Park\nGalveston is a great location for kayaking with opportunities to see the beach and the bay. We are partnering with Texas Parks and Wildlife for our kayak weekend in Galveston Bay. This is a great opportunity for the students to see a different side of Galveston Island. Both Friday and Saturday evening will be spent at Galveston State Park. Registration deadline 2/13/26 \nDouble Lake Backpacking\nWe will be practicing backpacking in preparation for our Summer trips at Double Lake in the Sam Houston National Forest. Students will run through a gear packout and hike along the trails in groups. One overnight\, tent camping.
