DESCRIPTION:SUMMER GEAR INVENTORY AND TENT SETUP \nMay 3rd\, 9am – 4pm \nTWP Warehouse – 6910 Renwick Dr.\, Suite V (back side of the strip center) \nWe rely on our volunteers to help ensure that our gear is ready for the nearly 200 students and 60 volunteer leaders that will be out with us this summer. We will be taking inventory\, setting up tents\, and making other preparations for summer. Please join us\, even if you can only make it for part of the time. DESCRIPTION:Summer Food and Snack Sorting\nDo you like to sort and organize things? If so\, we could use your help! Once again\, we will be separating the snack\, hot cocoa\, and oatmeal sorting from our gear pack-outs. We will meet at the warehouse and set up tables and bins. The activity involves counting out a variety of snacks\, oatmeal\, or cocoa packets and putting them in 2 gal bags. We will also prepare the travel day snack bags the students will take on their Airport Day. It’s a simple activity but time consuming due to the volume and diversity of snacks. \nREGISTER HERE

DESCRIPTION:Summer Leader Training #2\nRequired for ALL summer volunteer leaders.\n \nThe Woods Project summer leader training spans 2 days and will be held at our offices directly behind the American Red Cross building (2700 Southwest Freeway\, Houston\, TX\, 77098). This training is for our summer trip leaders only. The training covers important information on procedures\, policies\, and programming through the incorporation of presentation\, discussion\, scenarios\, and hands-on gear handling. Training will run from 8 am to 5 pm each day. Please dress comfortable and bring a refillable water bottle. Breakfast and lunch will be served each day. \nSummer leaders are required to attend 1 of the 2  available sessions. \nLeader training #1 – Saturday\, April 26 – Sunday\, April 27: REGISTER HERE \nLeader training #2 – Saturday\, May 17 – Sunday\, May 18: REGISTER HERE \nPlease register for one of the trainings if you have been assigned as a Summer Leader for the 2025 trips.

SUMMARY:Wilderness First Aid (WFA)
DESCRIPTION:Are you hoping to be a volunteer with The Woods Project this summer\, or participate in some other upcoming wilderness experience?  If so\, this might be the course for you!  The Woods Project will be hosting a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course\, which will take place all day on Saturday\, May 31st and Sunday\, June 1st.   Each day should run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a break for lunch. Cost is $210 ($150 for TWP leaders) per participant for WFA\, and there will also be a CPR certification option for $40.
