DESCRIPTION:It’s summer at The Woods Project!\nTo kick off our summer trips we host informational meetings for students and parents so they can see what our summer program entails. We would love a handful of volunteers that can help with check in and if possible translation. We have students from different schools and organizations show up to each meeting.  We will have a few parents that speak primarily Spanish\, French\, or Vietnamese. Having a volunteer that can help translate our responses and help parents ask their question would be fantastic! Of course\, if you don’t speak a second language no worries! Your help checking students in and guiding them to the meeting room is would be incredibly helpful! \nThe meeting itself starts at 6:30 p.m. We ask that you show up at 5:30 to help set up the check-in table and possibly the room. This year we are meeting at the front building\, (the main building) of the American Red Cross. \nRegister for a shift here. \nTuesday\, April 15 \nTuesday\, April 22 \nWednesday\, April 30 \nIf you have questions please reach out to diana@thewoodsproject.org.

SUMMARY:Summer Leader Training #1
DESCRIPTION:Summer Leader Training\nRequired for ALL summer volunteer leaders.\n \nThe Woods Project summer leader training spans 2 days and will be held at our offices directly behind the American Red Cross building (2700 Southwest Freeway\, Houston\, TX\, 77098). This training is for our summer trip leaders only. The training covers important information on procedures\, policies\, and programming through the incorporation of presentation\, discussion\, scenarios\, and hands-on gear handling. Training will run from 8 am to 5 pm each day. Please dress comfortable and bring a refillable water bottle. Breakfast and lunch will be served each day. \nSummer leaders are required to attend 1 of the 2  available sessions. \nLeader training #1 – Saturday\, April 26 – Sunday\, April 27: REGISTER HERE \nLeader training #2 – Saturday\, May 17 – Sunday\, May 18: REGISTER HERE \nPlease register for one of the trainings if you have been assigned as a Summer Leader for the 2025 trips. \n
