SUMMARY:Make-up for Weekend #1
DESCRIPTION:Martin Dies\, Jr State Park or Sam Houston National Forest\nMartin Dies\, Jr State Park:  The Woods Project will once again be partnering with Texas Parks and Wildlife through Texas Outdoor Families. We will spend both Friday and Saturday nights camping and we have various hikes and art activities planned throughout the day. \nSam Houston National Forest (Backpacking):  This is a great opportunity for your students and leaders to have a glimpse of what to expect on their summer trip. We will have four groups hiking the Four Notch Loop and the Lone Star Hiking Trail. The groups will hike about 10 miles total over the course of Saturday and Sunday. We are looking for folks of all skill levels – from first-time backpackers to experts!\n \nREGISTER HERE! \nPlease note:  The trip signup is your opportunity to make your preferences and availability for our weekend trips known.  We will make our best effort to place you on the trip(s) that you have requested.  However\, due to limits on capacity\, as well as the need to maintain a reasonable adult:student ratio\, there may be trips where we do not have space for every leader who would like to attend. We will follow up by email 1-2 weeks prior to our weekend trips with details and all the information you will need for attending.  Thank you!

DESCRIPTION:SUMMER GEAR INVENTORY AND TENT SETUP \nApril 20th\, 9am – 4pm \nNOTE: We will be at our warehouse – 6910 Renwick Dr.\, Suite V (back side of the complex) \nWe rely on our volunteers to help ensure that our gear is ready for the nearly 200 students and 60 volunteer leaders that will be out with us this summer. We will be taking inventory\, setting up tents\, and making other preparations for summer. Please join us\, even if you can only make it for part of the time. Your help is greatly appreciated! \nBreakfast and lunch will be provided. \nPlease dress for outdoor work and bring a reusable water bottle. \nContact diana@thewoodsproject.org with any questions. \nIf you have not previously volunteered for The Woods Project\, please fill out our volunteer information form before signing up below. \n
