SUMMARY:Houston Marathon Volunteers Needed
DESCRIPTION:Run\, Walk\, Donate\, or Volunteer to Help Us Make a Difference!\n\nThe Houston Marathon is an annual marathon held every January in Houston\, Texas for over 50 years. With thousands of runners and spectators\, this is the largest single-day sporting event in the city. \nThe Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon races will take place on Sunday\, Jan. 17\, 2027. \nThe We Are Houston 5K presented by Aramco and Chevron race will take place on Saturday\, Jan. 16\, 2027. \nThe Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason (RFAR) charity program connects the philanthropic community to passionate race participants willing to raise funds and create awareness for meaningful causes. The Woods Project is honored to participate as a nonprofit partner for the 2027 events. We are recruiting runners to our marathon team for all races: 5K\, the half and full marathons. Runners can sign up to fundraise for their registration or can sign up to be HEROs. \nFor information on how to support TWP and register for these events\, please visit our fundraising page on the Chevron Houston Marathon website. \nIf you’re interested in volunteering with TWP during the race weekend\, please go to our Chevron Volunteer page and sign up for a shift. SUMMARY:Event Support Volunteer
DESCRIPTION:Do you like going the extra mile? We need a handful of volunteers that can help before and at times after an event. We have two categories of events: support for weekend trip departures and support for general events. \nSupport for Weekend Trip Departures involves arriving 30 minutes before the students arrive. Tasks can include helping with food\, helping staff load supplies\, student check-in\, and directing students to the correct bus. After the bus has departed you help with clean-up and taking things back to the office. \nSupport for General Events usually involves showing up 30 to 45 minutes before other volunteers and helping with food set up\, gate management\, or volunteer check-in. It helps to have volunteered at a prior TWP event. The shift is also shorter since the support volunteers are not expected to stay through the entire event. \nThe location will be listed after each shift. Also. Specific instructions will be sent out a few days before the shift. I will add the contact information for the staff person in charge during your shift. SUMMARY:MLK Day of Service: Summer Prep
DESCRIPTION:Please join us at our MLK Day of Service . This year our focus will move away from just doing counts and shift towards getting things prepped for our upcoming spring and summer trips.
