SUMMARY:Airport Day – Donner 3
DESCRIPTION:It’s AIRPORT DAY!\nWe need your help! Join The Woods Project at both George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and or William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) as we send off around 200 students and 60 volunteers for their life-changing 2 week wilderness immersion experiences in California\, Colorado\, and Washington. \nWe have 7 flights departing between June 14th through June 28th. For many of our students\, this will be their first time on a plane – an exciting and nervous time! We need volunteers on the ground to help our student groups maneuver through the check-in process along with helping to set up and distribute materials they will need for their journey. This is a great way to connect with our students and encourage them as they embark on their journey. \nParking: Volunteers can park close to the Terminals or choose satellite parking. Please allow adequate time to get to the terminals\, if you decide on satellite parking. \nFollow this link and select “Donner 3” to register for Tuesday\, July 7th\, 5 a.m. at William P. Hobby Airport.  \nAll 2026 Airport Day Shifts \nSunday\, June 14\, Olympic 1 (IAH)\nSunday\, June 21\, Olympic 2 (IAH)\nSunday\, June 28\, Olympic 3 (IAH) \nWednesday\, June 17\, BOEC 1 (Hobby)\nSunday\, June 28\, BOEC 2 (Hobby)\nThursday\, June 18\, Donner 1 (Hobby)\nThursday\, June 25\, Donner 2 (Hobby)\nTuesday\, July 7\, Donner 3 (Hobby) \nQuestions or have a group interested in volunteering – reach out to diana@thewoodsproject.org.

SUMMARY:Daytime Volunteers Needed
DESCRIPTION:At The Woods Project we always strive to improve our program and serve our students in the best way possible. To get more done in a timely manner we are hoping to have volunteers sign up for shifts throughout the week. Shifts will be variable each week as the workload and needs change. In office tasks may include working on various kits\, club supplies\, data entry\, creating summer leader manuals\, or even making calls to students. Another task but located at the front of the Red Cross will be Saturday trip departures that involve helping leaders and teachers get students loaded onto the correct bus. \nI am also adding some warehouse tasks that involve loading up the Uhaul on Friday packouts and unloading it on their Sunday returns. In general\, there will be different tasks every week. If you are interested\, please sign-up below to be added to my daytime volunteer email list. It does not sign you up for a specific shift but adds you to the email list that will notify you when our shifts are created. I will send out registration links for specific shifts every 2 to 4 weeks. \nIf you want to see what shifts we currently available REGISTER HERE. \nBecause many of these tasks may only require a handful of people\, you will need to register. Once you register for a specific shift you will receive a confirmation along with information about the location\, expected task and staff person in charge. \nAs always\, our wonderful volunteers are the only way we make things happen with a small staff. Thank you!

SUMMARY:Fall Weekend Trip
DESCRIPTION:Lake Livingston Kayaking\nThe Woods Project will once again be partnering with Texas Parks and Wildlife through Texas Outdoor Families. We will spend both Friday and Saturday nights camping along the shores of Lake Livingston at Lake Livingston State Park. If you have your own boat\, we encourage you to bring it along. \nRegistration Link Coming Soon! \nPlease note:  The trip signup is your opportunity to make your preferences and availability for our weekend trips known.  We will make our best effort to place you on the trip(s) that you have requested.  However\, due to limits on capacity\, as well as the need to maintain a reasonable adult:student ratio\, there may be trips where we do not have space for every leader who would like to attend. We will follow up by email 1-2 weeks prior to our weekend trips with details and all the information you will need for attending.  Thank you!
